Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), said Friday that he is prepared to take on Rotimi Amaechi, a crucial opposition coalition member in Rivers State.
If Amaechi and his kids are able to lead the uprising he is advocating, Wike threatened to confront them in Rivers State.
Amaechi had called on Nigerians to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday night.
In response to the news, Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, emphasized that he would repeat his victory over Amaechi in the state’s elections.
In the FCT’s Gwagwalada area council, Wike addressed during the opening of the recently renovated Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria-New Market Road.
On behalf of President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima ordered the project.
“I was not a governor when I refused some people from bringing their successor,” Wike stated in response to Amaechi’s remarks. “In 2015, I defeated a very powerful governor who wanted his boy to be governor.”
“As the DG for the President’s campaign in 2019, a super minister was borrowing money from Chinese banks and other sources, leaving us heavily indebted. When he was unable to secure 20 percent of the vote for Mr. President, I defeated him.
According to some, Nigerians ought to come out. I want you to take the lead, man who is saying that.
“I’m waiting for you in Rivers State. You are inciting a rebellion among Nigerians.” With your kids, you will lead the way there first.
Furthermore, your kids wouldn’t be in London at the same time you’re here telling them to rebel.
“We will confront ourselves and realize that you truly mean what you are saying if you can bring your kids along.”
