FCT Minister Nyesom Wike cautioned residents against complaining about their problems on social media, asserting that such online efforts are futile. Speaking at the flag-off of the Collector Road C01 construction, he stressed that citizens should instead support the government and directly call its attention to issues. Wike stated emphatically that even 50 million social media complaints will not yield results, noting, “what you didn’t get through the door, you won’t get it through the window.”
The Minister’s remarks, made shortly after former presidential candidate Peter Obi raised an alarm about a dilapidated primary school in Abuja, emphasized the need for constructive criticism. Wike argued that no government, regardless of how long it stays in power, can solve every problem, making the support and contributions of good citizens essential when opportunities arise. He stressed that citizens should use the chance to make their input, rather than relying on social media grievances.
