As the electricity supply in Kano State deteriorates, the Northern Youth Assembly (NYA), Kano State Chapter, has made a forceful appeal for immediate and strategic measures to tackle what it deems an “unacceptable” power crisis that is undermining daily activities and economic development in the state.
The group, in a statement signed by its Chairman Sulaiman Idris and provided to journalists, expressed regret over the ongoing power outages affecting residences, enterprises, and civic facilities. They pointed out that this situation exemplifies a larger systemic failure within Nigeria’s electricity sector.
We therefore call on community leaders, energy experts, and policymakers to urgently convene and deliberate on sustainable solutions to Kano’s electricity crisis,” the statement said.
