2027: ADC appoints Liyel Imoke to head presidential primary committees

In advance of the party’s upcoming presidential primary, the African Democratic Congress, or ADC, has named former governors Liyel Imoke of Cross River State and Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State to head its presidential primary committees.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, made this announcement on Monday.

The statement states that Abdulfatah Ahmed will lead the Presidential Election Committee and Senator Imoke will chair the Presidential Screening Committee.

Alhaji Lawal Batagarawa, Hon. C.I.D. Maduabum as Secretary, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, Hon. Nnena Elendu-Ukeje, Prof. David Salifu, and Col. Abubakar Ali Ciroma are among the other members of the Presidential Screening Committee.

Prof. Yisa Gana is the secretary of the Presidential Election Committee, which also includes Maj.-Gen. Adamu Jalingo, Dr. Auwalu Anwar, Chief Emenike Ikechi, Dr. Macaulay Iyare, Tajudeen Bakare, Elder Ubolo Itodo Okpanachi, Zainab Buba Galadima, Uzoamaka Onyeama, and Maj.-Gen. Muhammad Inuwa Idris.

Additionally, the party established a Presidential Appeals Committee, which was led by Dr. Suleiman Usman, SAN, and had Barr as its secretary. Dare Okerade is going to be a member.

The ADC formed two screening panels for the governorship primaries. Femi Olawuyi, Esq. is the secretary of the first panel, which is presided over by S.E. Aruwa, SAN. Lauretta Onochie, Chief Dr. Vivian E. Ugochukwu, Prof. Rabiu Bello, Akilu Indabawa, and Ibrahim Mohammed Wali are among the other members.

Barr. Justina Abanida is the chair of the second governorship screening panel, and Hon. Chille Igbawua serves as the secretary. H.E. Gerrard Irona, Sen. Yisa Braimoh, Joseph Ephraim Enemali, Hassan Mohammed Ibrahim, and Navy Capt. Aliyu Ngolmo are among the other members.

Two Governorship Appeal Committees were also approved by the party. Abdulhakeen Taiye Ibrahim serves as secretary and Adah Usman is a member of the first committee, which is presided over by P.I. Oyewole Esq. Barr. Realwan Okpanachi serves as secretary and Barr. Hassan Yakubu is a member of the second appeal committee, which is presided over by M.E. Sheriff, Esq.

According to the ADC, the committees were meticulously assembled to guarantee openness, legitimacy, equity, and internal democracy throughout the party’s primaries.
