2027: ADC reorganizes in Borno and names Tubo chairman

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has established a Transitional Committee in Borno State, appointing Hon. Adamu Usman Tubo as Chairman and Hon. Sunusi Lawan Badawi as Secretary. This restructuring, announced by the party’s North-East Organising Secretary Mohammed Abba Kyari, follows a significant wave of defections from major parties including the APC, PDP, LP, SDP, and NNPP. The new coalition features several high-profile political figures, such as former TETFund Chairman Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, former senatorial candidates Idris Mamman Durkwa and Attom Magira, and former House Minority Leader Mohammed Kumalia, alongside former state assembly speakers. The committee members were strategically selected to represent various local government areas and senatorial districts to strengthen the party’s presence. Analysts suggest these moves position the ADC as a primary opposition contender in Borno State for the 2027 elections, capitalizing on the ongoing internal crises within the PDP.
