Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, urged residents of Zamfara State to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He suggested this move is crucial for addressing the security and financial difficulties facing both the state and the nation.
El-Rufai delivered this request while speaking to a group of ADC backers in Gusau on Sunday. He highlighted that the party intends to enhance safety, the economy, and the availability of food within Zamfara.
He advised existing party members to remain united and prevent any undermining actions. He also encouraged cooperation with youth and women’s associations to spread information about the ADC’s work at the local level. Furthermore, he reminded voters to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ready for the 2027 general elections.
Abubakar Atiku, the ADC’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, commented that El-Rufai’s visit would bolster the party’s attempts to maintain stability and cooperation among its members in the state.
The State ADC Chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Garba, mentioned that the attendees included young people and women from all 14 local government areas of Zamfara, asserting that the party is expanding and continuously gaining new members.
Local political figures, religious scholars, and other community leaders attended the gathering.
