Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State, has stated that God alone will decide who would succeed him in 2027.
According to Naija News, Sule made this announcement at a lavish reception on Sunday in Lafia honoring Barrister Labaran Magaji, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
At least twenty people have already expressed interest in running for governor, according to Governor Sule, but he would not impose a successor.
He saw that with so many candidates, the future would probably be characterized by cooperation, political alliances, and forgiving one another.
“I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that there are currently around 20 candidates running for the Nasarawa State governorship,” he stated.
Because only one person will ultimately succeed, “if we truly want to move forward, there will be a lot of alliances, a lot of forgiveness, and a lot of teamwork.”
“God Almighty, not A.A. Sule, will choose our next governor.”Additionally, Governor Sule took the opportunity to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he called the President’s unwavering support for Nasarawa State.
