2027: Wike-backed PDP attacks Makinde: Propaganda has an expiration date

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is supported by Nyesom Wike, has criticised Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, pointing out that propaganda has an expiration date.

This is as the faction publicly disowned a political gathering in Ibadan, Oyo State, accusing Makinde of using apurported alliance with the Allied Peoples Movement to advance his political ambitions ahead ofthe 2027 elections.

During a press conference on Thursday, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the factional National Publicity Secretary, stated that the party was not involved in the Ibadan event that was being advertised as a PDP/APM alliance meeting.

“Under the pretence of an alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples Movement, we have called this briefing to address the misleading narratives and deliberate falsehoods being circulated regarding the social gathering scheduled to take place in Ibadan today.

“Let us make it very clear that, with regard to this meeting or any associated political activity, the PDP is not a part of any coalition, alliance, agreement, or political arrangement with the Allied Peoples Movement or any other political party.

“Any person or group claiming to be acting on behalf of the PDP in connection with this event is doing so without the knowledge, approval, consent, or authority of the party,” Jungudo said.

According to him, the Ibadan gathering had exposed what he described as Makinde’s real political direction.
