Yusuf, the son of the late former president of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari, has announced that he plans to run for the House of Representatives in the general election of 2027.
Bahir Ahmad, a former presidential assistant, revealed this on Monday in a message posted on his X account.
He claims that after careful consideration, Yusuf decided to run for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Katsina State federal constituency within the All Progressives Congress.
“Yusuf Buhari, the son of our late boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, has informed stakeholders of his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua constituency under the All Progressives Congress after extensive consultations,” Ahmad wrote on X.
According to DAILY, Yusuf’s father served as president of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023 until passing away on July 13, 2025.
