Arsenal have announced the departure of forward Marquinhos to Brazilian club Cruzeiro on a permanent deal. The Premier League North London club made this known in a post via their website on Sunday. The 22-year-old joined Mikel Arteta’s team from Sao Paulo in June 2022. Marquinhos made six appearances across competitions for Arsenal and spent time on loan at Fluminense, Norwich City, Nantes, and Cruzeiro during his stint with the Gunners.
“Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Marquinhos for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future,” Arsenal’s statement partly read.
In another development, Barcelona have confirmed the termination of defender Clément Lenglet’s contract.
Through their website, the Catalan club also expressed their best wishes for Lenglet’s future.
In 2018, Lenglet transferred from Sevilla (a LaLiga team) to the Blaugrana, where he made 160 appearances for the Catalan club.
For Barca, he netted seven goals and made three assists.
