Pastor Giwa: “Churches are now robbers’ dens.”

Religious leaders are transforming the church into a “den of robbers,” according to Adewale Giwa, senior pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry.

According to Pastor Giwa, instead of transforming the church into a place of prayer, religious leaders have chosen to preach about prosperity.

Speaking to his followers in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, on Sunday, the priest charged that religious leaders were requesting needless payments.

Pastor Giwa based his sermon on Mark 11:17, claiming that the church has strayed from the gospel of salvation and instead prioritized accumulating wealth.

“My house should have been that of prayer, but they have turned it into a den of robbers,” he stated, quoting Jesus Christ in Mark 11:17.

“What does it mean? It means that it should have been a house where people gather to pray fervently to God and not the House where we gather money.

“We preach prosperity, we send prosperity messages out. If you bring N5,000 today, you will make one million tomorrow – he said no my house shouldn’t have been in that mess, it should have been a house of prayer but they have turned it den of robbers.

We have transformed his home into a haven for criminals because so many religious leaders are currently talking about soul restoration.

“To be stealing, misappropriating funds, and pressuring people to give money rather than establishing the House of Prayer.”

If you repent from your sins and turn to God, your prayers will be answered. That’s how it works.

“Be direct and ask God for what you want; since he is our father, he will grant it.”
