Ace Jude Abaga, better known by his stage as M.I., is a Nigerian rapper who has stated that his support for the All Progressives Congress, or APC, was a mistake.
The vocalist of “African Rapper NO 1” clarified that he backed the APC in 2015 because he believed the PDP, which was in power at the time, was corrupt.
It wasn’t the party of his dreams, he said, acknowledging that the APC isn’t living up to expectations.
“I tweeted about the thing [herdsmen attacks] that happened in Benue and a lot of people were saying, ‘But M.I, you supported the APC,'” M.I. stated on a recent episode of the Menism podcast.
“Yes, I thought the PDP government was really corrupt at the time, so I backed the APC. Those who raised their voices to declare, “Let us stand and bring in democracy,” included myself.
“As a human, you will occasionally be mistaken, regardless of how hard you strive to be correct. Regretfully, APC isn’t the APC I’ve always imagined.
He declared that his current emphasis is on working with other young people to improve the country by utilizing his skills and platform.
