Comrade Fahad Muhammad Malam Madori, the former chairman of the Jigawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has passed away.
Madori passed away at age 55.
The death was confirmed by Comrade Samaila Ibrahim Dutse, the Chairman of the Council, who stated that Comrade Malam Madori passed away unexpectedly at his home in Malam Madori town late on Sunday, June 6, 2025.
Fahad Muhammad, a seasoned journalist until his passing, served as an Information Officer for Birniwa and Kirikasamma Local Government, a member of the Advisory Committee of the NUJ Jigawa Council, and a staffer of the Jigawa State Ministry of Information, Youth, Sport, and Culture.
Four children and one wife survive him. at accordance with Islamic customs, he has subsequently been laid to rest at Malam Madori, his hometown.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone A, first offered its deepest sympathies to the Jigawa State Government, the National Secretariat, Alhassan Usman, his family, and the Nigerian journalism community as a whole for this tragic loss.
Comrade Fahad’s death was regarded as a great loss to the NUJ family in the condolence letter signed by Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, Secretary, NUJ Zone A. The statement also appealed to Almighty Allah to grant his soul eternal peace in Jannatul Firdausi.
In a same vein, the Jigawa State NUJ Council characterized the late Comrade Fahad as a fervent unionist who upheld the principles of professionalism, truth, and solidarity among media professionals in addition to being a journalist.
The statement, which was signed by Comrade Aisha Ahmed, the Council’s secretary, stated that the late Fahad’s time as the chairman of the NUJ Jigawa State Council was characterized by honesty, altruism, and a commitment to the well-being of journalists. It also stated that his outstanding work will live on forever in the history books.
