Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have commended the Super Falcons for their victory over South Africa in the semi-finals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Tuesday. According to DAILY POST, Rasheedat Ajibade and Michelle Alozie scored the goals that secured Nigeria’s win against Banyana Banyana at Stade Larbi Zaouli. The Super Eagles are set to compete against Morocco in the WAFCON final this weekend.
Atiku reacted by tweeting on his X account that Nigerians support the Super Falcons and encouraged them to seek glory against Morocco in the final.
“Congratulations to our Super Falcons for their 2-1 win against South Africa to advance to the #WAFCON final,” Atiku wrote.
We completely support you as you move toward an overall victory in the finals.
Oluremi Tinubu praised the girls for their victory against South Africa. She stated, “I commend you, our incredible Super Falcons, for your victory over South Africa in the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Championship.”
“Once again, you have demonstrated to the world the strength, bravery, and brilliance of women from Nigeria. Young girls everywhere can see your passion, discipline, and teamwork on the field as a brilliant example that nothing good is beyond reach.
“This victory represents more than simply a ticket to the Championship finals; it serves as a strong reminder of what we can accomplish when we believe in ourselves and unite.
