Adebayo Shittu, the immediate past minister of communications, claims that Nigerians will be shocked if Southeast votes for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming general elections in 2027.
The former minister added that the outcome will not be impacted by the much-discussed “Obi factor.”
Shittu made this statement on Wednesday in response to inquiries during an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” program.
And you’ll be shocked to learn how many votes the APC will receive today, even from the South East,” he said.
The politician, who was born in Oyo, added that the All Progressives Congress, or APC, was gaining ground in the area. He attributed this to the efforts of Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, who he said had influenced public opinion in favor of Tinubu.
With the help of Dave Umahi and numerous others, Shittu continued, “Many people are being persuaded to take the Tinubu route, even those from the Southeast.”
