The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for citizens who recently participated in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Anambra State from October 22 to October 26.
In a statement released by Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, registered voters were advised to go to the Registration Area where they initially registered to collect their PVCs. She strictly emphasized that no collection by proxy is permitted; PVCs must be collected in person. The commission urged all registered voters to collect their PVCs within this specific timeframe to be eligible to vote in the upcoming governorship election in Anambra.
Eta-Messi also announced that INEC will conduct a mock accreditation exercise on Saturday, October 25, in selected polling units across Anambra’s three senatorial districts. This trial run is intended to test the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), evaluate its response time, and verify the uploading of results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal before the main election.
She listed the specific locations for the mock accreditation:
* Anambra Central: Amawbia II (03) Igwédimma Primary School I & II (006) and (007), Idemili North Nkpor II (06) Ububa Village Square (035) in Awka South LGA.
* Anambra North: Nteje III (07) Girls Secondary School, Nteje (005), Nteje IV (08) State Primary School, and Nteje (002) in Oyi LGA; Aguleri II (02) Central School (001), Aguleri II (02) Umunoke Public Square I (002) in Anambra East LGA.
* Anambra South: Ekwulobia I (06) Central School, Ekwulobia (003), Ekwulobia II (07) and Urban Girls Secondary School Ekwulobia (009) in Aguata LGA; Ajalli I (01) Primary SchooI (007) and Ajalli I (01) RCM KDT School (011) in Orumba North LGA.
Eta-Messi encouraged registered voters in these specific polling units to participate actively, stating their involvement will help INEC refine its operational and technological procedures for the 2025 Anambra governorship election. She concluded by affirming INEC’s commitment to operational efficiency, transparency, and building confidence among all stakeholders.
