The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), through the Jigawa State Commissioner of Police (CP) Dahiru Muhammad, has reminded its officers that the uniform represents trust, authority, and responsibility, and that the public expects them to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Addressing 272 newly passed-out police constables in Dutse, the Commissioner congratulated them on completing their rigorous training, marking the start of a life dedicated to “selfless service, discipline, and unwavering commitment to public safety.”
CP Muhammad told the new officers that they are now “ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force” and must conduct themselves according to the Force’s core values: discipline, loyalty, courage, and respect for human rights. He stressed their critical role in restoring public confidence and improving community security.
The Commissioner issued a stern warning against misconduct or abuse of power, declaring his command has zero tolerance for corrupt practices, case compromise, and unprofessional behavior. He cautioned: “Your actions on the field will reflect on the entire institution. You must resist any temptation to compromise your values. This uniform must never be used to intimidate, harass, or extort the people you are sworn to protect.”
