Tinubu will name new ambassadors in response to Trump’s military threat.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu might name the country’s new ambassadors as soon as next week, which occurs during a growing diplomatic disagreement with the United States concerning reported attacks on Christians in Nigeria. This information comes from Arise Television on Tuesday.

President Tinubu has ordered the nation’s security services to complete the security checks of the potential ambassadorial candidates right away. Arise TV stated that the President will announce the new ambassadors, possibly as early as next week, because security services were directed to finish vetting immediately.

This development follows US President Donald Trump’s threat of military action if the Nigerian government does not deal with the alleged killings of Christians.

Previously, in April of this year, a report suggested that former federal legislator Senator Shehu Sani, ex-presidential aide Reno Omokri, and former governors of Abia and Enugu States, Okezie Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, among others, were on the new list of nominees. The Federal Government has since confirmed that the list of ambassadorial nominees is prepared.
