National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom, shot near the White House on Wednesday, has died.
President Donald Trump confirmed the West Virginia National Guard member’s death during a Thursday press briefing.
An Afghanistan national, identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, had shot two National Guard members near the US capital.
On Thursday, President Trump updated the public, confirming Beckstrom “just passed away,” calling her an “incredible person, outstanding in every single way.”
Trump labeled the shooting a “terrorist attack,” and criticized the Joe Biden administration for allowing Afghans who assisted U.S. forces during the Afghanistan War to enter the U.S.
