The FCTA announced it started enforcement on 1,095 properties in Abuja whose titles were revoked for not paying Ground Rent, C-of-O bills, Penalty/Violation, and Land Use Conversion fees.
This information was in a Friday statement signed by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.
The affected properties are located in Asokoro, Maitama, Garki, and Wuse, major districts of the FCC.
The FCTA said this decision followed months of unheeded payment reminders to the property owners.
According to the statement, titled “Commencement of enforcement actions on defaulters of Ground Rent payments, Land Use Conversion Fee, C-of-O bills,” FCT Minister Nyesom Wike approved the enforcement.
The notice informed the public, especially FCT property holders, that the Minister approved enforcement actions on 1,095 FCC properties for various payment defaults.
The administration stated that despite multiple warnings published from May to November across different media, many owners failed to settle their outstanding debts.
The notice added that the continued non-compliance violates the Land Use Act, Section 28 (5a & 5b), and the conditions of their Rights of Occupancy.
The FCTA confirmed that the final 14-day grace period ended on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, necessitating enforcement.
The breakdown shows 835 properties face action for Ground Rent default, and 260 properties for failure to pay Violation and Land Use Conversion Fees.
