Milan Skriniar, the captain of Fenerbache, has disclosed the team’s strategy for stopping Victor Osimhen in the Istanbul derby. Osimhen scored twice the last time Fenerbahce faced Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig last season. The Nigeria international has recovered from a minor hamstring injury, and is set to spearhead Galatasaray’s assault in the Intercontinental derby on Monday (today). Skriniar and Osimhen clashed throughout their time in Italy. The centre-back’s aerial clash with Osimhen in November 2021 when Napoli challenged Inter Milan in Italy has since compelled the Nigerian to wear a protective face mask.Skriniar noted that it will require a concerted effort to stop the Nigerian from scoring against his squad again. “Osimhen and Icardi are both excellent center-forwards. Of course, they have various types of traits, but they are really good players,” he told Bein Sports. “On Monday, we’ll assess our defensive needs. We need to play compactly and fiercely, and be together so we can stop them.”
