FG Considers Examining the Capital Gains Tax

The National Tax Policy Implementation Committee (NTPIC) said over the weekend that it will consult extensively in resolving areas of concern in response to the issue over the new Capital Gains Tax. Nigerians and the investing public were reassured by the Committee that the policy would be just, accountable, and transparent while maintaining a human face throughout its implementation.Following the Committee’s inauguration by Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, made the assurance in Abuja. He also pledged that areas of concern in the new tax law, such as the Capital Gains Tax (CGT), will be addressed through broader consultations.
