On Tuesday, the Senate urged the federal and state governments to guarantee that life-saving antidotes, such as snake anti-venom and other emergency medications, are adequately stocked, available, and accessible in public and private hospitals across the country. The request came after a motion led by Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule (APC, Lagos West) was approved. The motion emphasized the rising number of medical situations that need for immediate attention, including poisoning, drug overdoses, snakebites, scorpion stings, and other types of envenomation.
