Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the secretary-general of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), reaffirmed on Sunday that the organization has not received financial help from any government, either inside or outside of Nigeria. Oloyede, who also serves as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar, gave a speech at the University of Lagos Muslim Alumni’s (UMA) 31st annual pre-Ramadan lecture in Lagos.He said that throughout his fifteen years as NSCIA scribe, no government had given the council “a kobo.” Less than 20 people have given the council N500,000 or more since 2013, he continued, emphasizing that the organization does not get a sizable amount of outside support.
