The loss of former goalie Alex Manninger has devastated the Arsenal family.
Manninger died in a deadly vehicle accident on Thursday at the age of just 48.
The Gunners shared their sadness in a heartfelt tribute on their official X account.
“The untimely death of former goalkeeper Alex Manninger has shocked and deeply saddened everyone at Arsenal.”
“At this very sad time, all of our thoughts are with his family and loved ones. “Alex, rest in peace,” tweeted Arsenal.
Before to Espanyol, Manninger played goalkeeping for Arsenal from 1997 to 2002.
He also played for Juventus, Liverpool, Bologna, Torino, Red Bull Salzburg, Udinese, and Augsburg during his professional career.
