WHO tracking down hantavirus-infected cruise ship passengers

The World Health Organization announced on Tuesday that it was attempting to locate passengers on a cruise ship passenger’s journey from the island of Saint Helena to Johannesburg, where the person died from hantavirus.

On April 24, the Dutch woman disembarked in Saint Helena with “gastrointestinal symptoms.” Her husband had died from the virus on the ship that was currently stranded off Cape Verde.According to WHO, she passed away on April 26 after her health “deteriorated during a flight to Johannesburg.” It stated, “Contact tracing for passengers on the flight has been initiated.”
