Following his team’s 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry named Viktor Gyokeres as the Gunners player that disproved expectations.
The Frenchman praised Gyokeres for his performance against the La Liga powerhouses at the Emirates Stadium in an interview with CBS Sports following the game.
Regarding the Sweden international, Henry remarked, “If it takes the example of Gyokerest, the jury was out on him.”
It’s not a negative thing. Accept it. Make an effort to disprove individuals. He did tonight.
I’ll also give him credit for the past month, not just tonight. He appears strong, is sprinting, and resembles a number nine that you should be afraid of.
Gyokeres left Sporting CP last summer to join the Premier League North London team.
