Enugu Rangers defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1 at home on Sunday to continue their quest for a ninth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) championship.
Godwin Obaje, the former goal king, scored twice for the Flying Antelopes.
In the game, Alex Oweifaleya was on target for Insurance.
With an exciting 3-2 victory over Wikki Tourists on the road, second-place Rivers United continued to put pressure on Rangers.
The team led by Finidi George battled back twice to win the match.
Rivers United has 64 points from the same number of games as Rangers, who have 65 points from 37 games.
On the last day, the title will be determined. Rivers United will host Katsina United in Port Harcourt, while Rangers will go to Lagos to play Ikorodu City.
After losing to Rivers United, Wikki Tourists were demoted to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
After losing to Remo Stars 2-1 in Ikenne, Bayelsa United will also play in the NNL the next season.
