Dr. Abdullahi Nasiru, a medical specialist, has cautioned Nigerians that Ebola virus disease symptoms can occasionally resemble malaria, advising them to seek appropriate medical care rather than self-medication.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday, Dr. Nasiru stated that some people find it challenging to promptly identify the fatal illness since early signs of Ebola, including as fever, headache, weakness, muscle soreness, and exhaustion, are similar to those frequently linked with malaria.
He claimed that many Nigerians have a dangerous tendency of assuming that any fever-related sickness is malaria.
