Sariki Bello Shehu II, the leader of the Hausa community in Aba, has given the Abia State government a list of the difficulties that Hausa traders and other community members in Aba face.
Leading a delegation of his people to the Abia State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Umuahia on Wednesday, Sarki Shehu urged the State government to take into consideration the construction of a larger settlement along the Osioma axis that would house a mosque, market, schools, and residential facilities. He claims that Friday prayers frequently result in traffic jams due to the growing number of worshippers.
The Hausa leader congratulated Governor Alex Otti and his Chief of Staff, Caleb Ajagba, for their assistance in a recent security issue involving Hausa traders in the State and reiterated the support of his people for the Abia State government.
In order to combat the conversion of residential structures into commercial spaces and the growth of reasonably priced metropolitan transport services inside Aba, he advocated for better urban planning.

Uzor Nwachukwu, the Abia State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, welcomed the Hausa community leader and members to his office and praised them for their harmonious coexistence in the state.
He told them that every lawful resident would continue to get protection, care, and other welfare services, and that Governor Alex Otti’s administration does not discriminate against tribes, religion, or social background.
The Commissioner added that in order to maintain the state’s peace, unity, and general growth, the state government would constantly work with stakeholders.
