Football pundit Jamie O’Hara has called on Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta to seriously pursue bringing Kevin De Bruyne to the North London team this summer. Kevin De Bruyne, 33, disclosed last month that he would leave Manchester City at the end of the current season.
De Bruyne, who has played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s success in recent years, is already attracting attention from overseas clubs, particularly in the United States.
However, he remains open to the possibility of continuing his career in England, which has heightened speculation about his next move.
O’Hara emphasized the importance of Arteta pursuing De Bruyne, stating that acquiring a player of his caliber could be transformative for an Arsenal squad that has struggled to clinch the Premier League title in the last three seasons. In a statement to Sky Sports, he expressed: “Every Premier League team would gladly welcome Kevin De Bruyne. If he really wants to leave City, Mikel Arteta should take the initiative. He ought to call him and say: ‘Join Arsenal. We can win the league together. I’m planning to sign a striker, and you playing in midfield with Odegaard could make us a powerful team.’” He also remarked, “Arsenal’s appeal of Champions League football is a major factor. Arteta should offer De Bruyne anything he desires to get him on the team. He’s a proven winner with vast experience who still plays at an elite level. His involvement could create an enormous impact.”
