A soldier who slipped out to attend a party is killed by suspected IPOB fighters.

After surreptitiously leaving his duty post to attend a party in Anambra State, a Nigerian Army soldier involved in Operation Udoka was murdered by suspected members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra.

According to reports, the incident happened at the Forward Operating Base in Uli on the evening of Saturday, May 18, 2025.

It was discovered that the soldier, dressed in his military camouflage gear, had gone to the event, which was a strippers’ party called the “Ladies’ Jamboree.”

The soldier was found missing during a tactical operation, a security source said.The soldier’s disappearance was uncovered during a tactical operation, according to the source. Later, it was discovered that he had sneaked off of the base in uniform to go to a strippers’ party at a neighboring hotel without authorization. Suspected IPOB/ESN fighters confronted him there and shot him dead. Troops later retrieved his lifeless body at the location, along with the body of an infant.

“His weapon has been retrieved and is currently in military custody.”

Operation Udoka is a Defence Headquarters-led operation and efforts to reach the Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, were unsuccessful.

As of the time this complaint was filed, he had not returned a message sent to him and his phone number was off.
