Jawad Adejoka, a forward for the Maktown Flyers, has focused on their upcoming match against Club Africain on Friday (today) following their second Sahara Conference loss to Al Ahly on Wednesday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Flyers lost 89–80 against the Egyptians despite James Butler Jr.’s unstoppable 29 points.
The majority of the Maktown Flyers’ early points came from beyond the arc, much like in their first three games.
But it was only a matter of time until the Egyptian champs strengthened their defense, at which point the Nigerian team began to score all nine of their points from deep.
Midway through the first quarter, Mohamed Khalaf made a three-pointer to give Al Ahly a 12–11 lead. Maktown never took the lead again, but they were still within striking distance.
Al Ahly improved in the fourth quarter and outscored Maktown 19–14 to win.
The game occasionally looked like a duel between Butler Jr. and Murphy, as both teams’ offenses were sparked by their outstanding shooting.
