ADC reschedules the screening of candidates for governor and president.

The presidential and governorship screening process that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) had originally planned for this weekend has been rescheduled for today.

The party justified the change by pointing to security issues in some northern regions.

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, revealed this in a statement in Abuja.

According to Abdullahi, all impacted candidates will receive the updated schedules and the relevant information.

“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) wishes to inform all presidential and governorship aspirants that the party’s screening exercise that was previously scheduled for this weekend has been postponed to Monday, May 18th, 2026,” the statement read.

Additionally, the screening of potential federal lawmakers will now take place in Abuja due to the security situation that affects some areas of Northern Nigeria.

“The updated schedules and pertinent information will be properly communicated to all impacted candidates.

The statement stated, “We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all aspirants and stakeholders and regret any inconvenience this adjustment may cause.”
