Following a holiday in France and the UK, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will return to Nigeria on Tuesday. Bayo Onanuga, the president’s spokeswoman, made this announcement on Monday.
The President would return to his official duties on Tuesday, according to the statement.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties after wrapping up his work vacation earlier than expected.
On September 4, 2025, the President left for France to spend a portion of his yearly vacation, which was originally supposed to be split between France and the UK.
“President Tinubu hosted a special luncheon at the Élysée Palace in Paris last week with President Emmanuel Macron of France.
Both presidents resolved to strengthen their alliance for mutual prosperity and international stability after reviewing important areas of collaboration between France and Nigeria, according to the statement.
On September 4, 2025, Tinubu left Nigeria for France and the United Kingdom.
Opposition figures, including as Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential contender, have criticized the president’s frequent travels.
