An APC chieftain has implored President Tinubu to grant a state pardon to Nnamdi Kanu, urging him to use the opportunity to “write your name in gold”

The Director General of the APC Digital Force, Ikeagwuonwu Klinsmann, issued a statement from Sweden urging President Bola Tinubu to grant a state pardon to the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Klinsmann presented the release as an act of “visionary leadership” and compassion, which would align with the President’s vision of national reconciliation and unity. He argued that freeing Kanu would be a “bold step toward healing the scars of division” in the South-East, restore confidence among the people, and revitalize economic activity and investor confidence in cities like Aba and Onitsha.
He also referenced the President’s recent pardons of other convicts and judicial rulings that question the legality of Kanu’s detention, calling on Tinubu to exercise his constitutional power under Section 175. He reiterated a previous plea to free Kanu in the spirit of mercy and forgiveness.
