At the Cycling Kano 2025, Isa Momoh and Mubarak Auwal won gold in the professional and U-15 divisions, respectively. In the inaugural event, bikers gathered at the Emir’s Palace to start their individual bicycle races. In the male professional category, Momoh, a professional cyclist from Kaduna state, won, while Jacob Ishaku, a fellow countryman, placed second and took home the silver. Joel Berry, an Abuja-born cyclist with great potential, won the bronze. Kano athletes dominated the podium in the junior divisions.Mubarak Auwal won the gold medal in the Under-15 boys’ division after defeating Mujahid Hudu and Ibrahim Sani, who came in second and third, respectively.Outstanding results were also generated by the girls’ categories. Islam Yau Abubakar won the gold medal in the Under-15 girls’ competition, while Amina Abdulhamid and Hauwau Mohd Abdulhamid took home the silver and bronze, respectively. Speaking during the ceremony, Sani Musa Danja, the Kano State Governor’s Senior Special Advisor on Sports and Youth Development, credited Abba Kabir Yusuf’s creative leadership for the competition’s success. Additionally, he thanked Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, the event organizers, and other stakeholders for their dedication and 24-hour efforts in making the program a success.
