The next fourth edition of the Governor Douye Diri National Wrestling Classics will feature traditional wrestling as one of the categories, according to the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF). Dr. Daniel Igali, the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Sport Development, stated that everything is set up for a lot better competition during a news conference held prior to the start of the wrestling classics.Additionally, Dr. Igali announced that three new weight categories for both men and women in the Greco-Roman and freestyle disciplines will be added to this year’s Classics. “This year, we’ve added three more weight categories to what used to be twelve weight categories in each style, totaling 15 in women’s wrestling, 15 in Greco-Roman, and 15 in men’s freestyle, and five new weight categories in the U-15 category,” he stated.
