The board members of The Delborough Lagos, chaired by His Royal Majesty, Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe CFR, mni, have highly praised the brand’s major advancements in the African hospitality industry. This commendation followed a review of the management team’s annual progress reports during the 2025 annual board meeting held recently in Lagos.
Igwe Achebe applauded the management team for upholding the brand’s vision and acknowledged its endorsement by global elites. The Board Chairman also welcomed new members, former Minister for Petroleum and NNPC Group Managing Director Prof. Ibe Kachukwu and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Barr. Kelechi Nwaiwu, noting that The Delborough Lagos is the only corporate body in Nigeria with a SAN serving as Board Secretary.
In his remarks, Prof. Kachukwu stated that The Delborough Lagos has solidified its position as a premier destination in Africa over two successful years of operation, citing the brand’s commitment to excellence, which has earned it a loyal clientele and multiple awards. He specifically praised the staff’s dedication, noting he has hosted business visitors and attended Sunday Brunch functions there. He concluded that the brand’s impressive performance and unique blend of luxury, comfort, and professionalism confirm its established niche in the African hospitality scene.
The Board Secretary, Barr. Kelechi Nwaiwu, SAN, highlighted that the board members were selected from a pool of experienced professionals, noting the extensive board governance experience brought by the Obi of Onitsha and others like Her Excellency Dr. Suswam and Dr. Valentine Ozigbo. He stated that the collective wealth of experience ensures the brand maintains its standards and expands across Nigeria, West Africa, Africa, and potentially Europe.
Board member Mrs. Olajumoke Benson attested that The Delborough Lagos is one of the best iconic hospitality brands in Lagos, emphasizing that the level of excellence and quality of service are second to none. Dr. Matt Aikhionbare Osayaba similarly stated that The Delborough Lagos has redefined the hospitality industry in Nigeria within a space of under two years. He expressed the board’s confidence and gratitude, noting the detailed professional reports showed the brand has made giant strides beyond its short operational time, assuring the brand’s future as a defining sector player in Africa.
