Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League matchup against Arsenal, Atletico Madrid has officially complained to UEFA for being left without hot water at the Emirates Stadium after their training session today. Marca claims that despite training in London on a rainy day, the La Liga team was unable to take a shower before departing the stadium. Shortly after Atletico arrived at 5:30 p.m., Diego Simeone’s team informed Arsenal’s personnel of the problem, but it was not fixed before training ended. The Spanish team was surprised that such a basic facility problem could occur in a contemporary stadium like the Emirates, particularly during a significant UEFA competition. In order to shower and get ready for the game, the players and crew had to go back to their hotel. Since then, Atletico has formally protested to UEFA, stating that the state of affairs is intolerable for a stadium of Arsenal’s caliber.
