Igwe Nnaemeka Ugochukwu Alfred Achebe (Agbogidi), the Obi of Onitsha, was honoured on his 85th birthday by The Delborough Lagos, the most distinguished hospitality in Africa.

On June 20, 2026, The Delborough Lagos hosted a magnificent birthday dinner party for the esteemed 21st king of the Onitsha dynasty. The entire management and personnel of the company gave him a standing ovation in celebration of his Royal Majesty.

A few days prior to the royal celebration, The Delborough Lagos hosted Michelin-starred chef Sauro Bison to test its DANI Restaurant, providing a world-class dining experience. This was the chef’s first visit to Africa.

The event was attended by former president Chief Olesegun Obasanjo, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Senator Ita Giwa, NDC presidential contender Mr. Peter Obi, Mr. Charles Oputa, also known as Area Fada (Charly Boy), and numerous other luminaries from other fields.

Cultural dance performances by several ethnic groups and an amazing, vibrant welcoming ceremony by The Delborough Lagos personnel to honour the monarch were among the celebration’s highlights.
