Samuel Anyanwu has been restored to his role as National Secretary by the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP.
The declaration was made by the party’s Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum, during a news event on Wednesday.
The decision to reinstate Anyanwu into the National Working Committee, or NWC, was difficult, but ultimately approved by the majority of party members, according to Damagum, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, and other important stakeholders.
“We will have an expanded Caucus, at the next Caucus we will take a decision leading to a proper NEC,” he added, announcing the cancellation of the scheduled NEC meeting.
I stated that it was a crucial choice because Anyanwu is returning to his position as National Secretary. We will have an extended Caucus on June 30th as INEC stated that they do not have our notification.
