Breaking: El-Rufai shows up for his trial on allegations of corruption

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has shown up at the Federal High Court in the state capital to continue his ongoing corruption trial.

El-Rufai came at the court with representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC).

Allegations of financial malfeasance, fraud, and abuse of office during his time as governor are at issue in this case.

The prosecution claim that money was wrongfully disbursed for projects that were either poorly managed or never completed.

El-Rufai, meanwhile, insists he is innocent and has refuted every accusation.

As the case develops, the court is anticipated to continue hearing motions and arguments from the prosecution and defense throughout Monday’s session.
