The German Football Association, or GFA, has suspended Hamburg winger Philip Otele for two games, according to the
In Hamburg’s North derby loss to Werder Bremen last weekend, Otele was sent off.
After the game, Hamburg protested the ruling made by center referee Florian Exner, but the GFA denied their appeal.
The 27-year-old will now be absent from the Bundesliga games against Eintracht Frankfurt and TSG Hoffenheim.
In January, Otele went on loan to Hamburg from FC Basel in Switzerland.
In nine league games for Die Rothosen, the Nigerian has one goal and one assist.
