Frank Lampard, the manager of Coventry, acknowledged that they made errors that cost them in their loss to Sunderland in the Championship playoff semi-final.
On Tuesday, in the second leg, Lampard’s men entered the match with a 2-1 deficit.
However, in the second half, Ephron Mason-Clark scored with a header from a deep cross, equalizing the aggregate score at the Stadium of Light.
With penalties on the horizon, Dan Ballard leapt above everyone else in the 122nd minute of extra time to score the crucial goal.
In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Lampard asserted that his team performed better across both legs.
“Anyone who saw the two matches will know we were in control at home. We erred, and they capitalized,” Lampard stated.

“We hold no bitterness and congrats to Sunderland, but we were the superior team across the two matches, which is why they are so pleased to be heading to Wembley.”
