FIFA have confirmed that Chelsea striker, Nicolas Jackson, will serve a two-game ban over the red card he picked up against Flamengo at the Club World Cup.
It was Jackson’s second sending off in four games for the Blues.
Jackson was dismissed only minutes after he came on in the second half of their 3-1 defeat to the Brazilian side.
In a statement, FIFA announced that the Disciplinary Committee has imposed the following sanction on Chelsea player Nicolas Jackson, who received a direct red card and was sent off during the match between his team and CR Flamengo at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 20, 2025, as part of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025…
“Suspension of two matches for infringing the provisions of article 14(1)(e) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. There is no possibility for appeal against this definitive and binding decision.
Jackson went on social media to express his regret for his actions after the match.
Chelsea, without him, defeated Esperance 3-0 in their final group match, securing a spot in the Round of 16 against Benfica
