The Kebbi Development Forum, or KDF, is a sociopolitical organization that has urged the federal government and the Kebbi State government to step up their efforts to address the state’s worsening security situation.
In response to recent attacks that took multiple lives in Tadurga, Zuru Local Government Area, and Kyabu, Danko/Wasagu LGA, the forum made the call in a statement released in Birnin Kebbi on Monday by its spokesperson, Abubakar Bello-Abdullahi.
The group sent condolences to the state administration, the Zuru Emirate, and the impacted families, expressing their profound worry over the killings.
“We are heartbroken by the senseless loss of innocent lives and stand in full solidarity with the grieving communities,” the statement read.
The forum also prayed for the peaceful repose of the victims and comfort for those left behind, while urging authorities to restore peace and stability to the affected areas.
Bello-Abdullahi reaffirmed the forum’s belief in the sanctity of life and emphasized the need for coordinated support to help victims recover from trauma and rebuild their lives.
In addition, he praised the work of security forces stationed in the area and urged more cooperation, intelligence exchange, and long-term military operations to counter armed groups’ activities.
“We applaud our security forces’ bravery, but we call for more proactive, intelligence-driven approaches to safeguard people and property,” he continued.
The request is made in response to mounting public pressure on authorities to address the escalating insecurity in the southern communities of Kebbi.
