Comrade Andrew Emelieze’s associates, the National Coordinator of the Federal Workers Forum (FWF), have expressed concern about his purported detention in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, by Department of State Service (DSS) agents.
In a brief statement provided to BASEMEDIA NEWS on Tuesday morning, Emelieze’s colleagues voiced this warning.
Comrade Ogundele Ayodele signed the statement on behalf of the activist’s friends and associates.
According to Ayodele’s statement, Emelieze was taken into custody by security agency agents in Ibadan on Monday at approximately 6:00 p.m.
The activist hasn’t been freed since, he bemoaned.
He also stated that he sent the message so that the general public would be aware of the situation.
According to Ayodele, the activist was allegedly arrested because of a planned protest that was supposed to happen today (Tuesday).
Comrade Andrew Emelieze, the National Coordinator of the Federal Workers Forum, was taken into custody by Department of State Security Services agents yesterday evening at approximately 6:00 p.m.
“The proposed planned protest schedule for today can be linked to the detention,” he stated.
As of the time this report was filed on Tuesday, DAILY POST’s attempts to get in touch with the appropriate DSS personnel in Ibadan to find out if Emelieze was being held or not had failed.
