Crown FA won the top prize at the Spires 5-a-side Naija Street Soccer divisional tournament, creating a new champion in Epe.
In a thrilling match on Sunday at STS Pitch in Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, Crown FA defeated Angso Sports Club 9-3.
Angso Sports Club won N300,000 as runners-up, while Crown FA won N500,000 in cash. Prodigy FC, who finished third, took home N100,000.
With 15 goals, Anifowoshe Olamilekan became the tournament’s top scorer and was awarded N50,000.
At the October state championship, Epe will be represented by the top three teams.
Top-notch organization and player care continue to be the competition’s top goals, according to Bankole Allibay, the tournament’s creator.
“When we first started, we told Nigerians that our goal was to transform 5-a-side football in the nation, and we have succeeded in practically every way. Teams are paid immediately from the qualifiers in this competition, which is unique. With Spires 5-a-side, it can only grow better, according to Allibay. As the Spires 5-a-side competition continues its journey throughout Lagos, focus now turns to the Lagos Island division after successful performances in Ikorodu and Epe.
