Dan Ulasi, a prominent member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on President Bola Tinubu to publicly answer for the pledges he made before the 2023 presidential election.
During an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday, Ulasi stated that the President ought to speak directly to Nigerians, outlining which campaign pledges have been kept, which ones are still unfulfilled, and the causes of implementation delays.
He claims that Nigerians should be informed about the government’s actions since taking office.
According to Ulasi, citizens have the right to seek explanations from elected officials on unmet pledges, even though governing may differ from what outsiders perceive.
He bemoaned what he called the public’s growing resignation to bad governance, claiming that many Nigerians now prioritize their own survival outside of state structures rather than expecting significant performance from the government.
“If the President is doing well, I want to see Mr. President, and I like him personally, let him make a broadcast outlining every promise he made before 2023 and which ones he has started and completed, and if not, why did he not,” stated Ulasi.
All I’m saying is this. We have a right to know what you promised us, even if it’s not what you see outside the government. Why haven’t you completed them?
“Nigerians are now genetically used to non performance. They have no interest. Nowadays, the majority of people search for non-governmental sources of income.
“The government doesn’t generate anything; it doesn’t supply food, water, or anything else. It becomes an issue when they are unable to pay teachers’ wages. We cannot let fate handle the many issues we face.
